Lambertino Lambertini – battle of Fossalta 1249 54mm metal kit figure – cod. FRV-022
They had Petrone duke as their ancestor in the 10th century, like the Lambertazzi, and they too derived the family from a Lamberto, called Lambertino, who lived in 1165. Partial enemies of their relatives were geremei. Until 972 Honorius archbishop of Ravenna added to their oldest investitures that of Poggio renatico, which they owned almost continuously for nine centuries (1). Occupied other surrounding lands, they composed in 1225 with Simone Archbishop of Ravenna and returned only to the previous possessions, of which Obizzo I lord of Ferrara gave Roberto Gozo Lambertini in fief in 1291.
The Lambertini distinguished themselves especially in arms, and on the glorious day of Fossalta Lambertino di Guido, together with a Bottrigari and an Orsi, disarmed and imprisoned Enzo re, son of Emperor Frederick II.
