Walther Von Metze, present in the pages of the Codex Manesse, was a french priest, but also a poet – in Germany known as Walther, otherwise Gauiter.

One of his greatest pieces is an encyclopedical poem Imago Mundi (The Image / Mirror of the World) based on the medieval text by Honorius Inclusus.

The poem describes the creation of the Earth – The World, as well as the Universe while mixing real facts (geography, astronomy) with fantasy (monsters, treasures).
Imago Mundi is also mentioned in H. P. Lovecraft’s work The Nameless City.
